  • Odysseus put wax on the sailors ears.
  • "Therefore you are to tie me up, tight as a splint, erect along the mast, lashed to the mast, and if I shout and beg to be untied, take more turns of the rope to muffle me."
  • The sailors are to shun the sirens. 
  • Odysseus carried wax along the line, and laid it thick on his crews ears. 
  • Sailors have to tie Odysseus up on the mast and muffle him.
  • The Sailors seen smoke and white water, with the sound of waves. 
  • Odysseus used his wits to find a way out of situations. 
  • Odysseus sent his crew onward toward Scylla.
