The day I joined the military..... I don't know whether it was the best or worst day of my life.
All I can remember between being a child and an adult is the town I served in, but it's not like what it used to be.
My Lost Youth: grew up too fast, reminiscing on his past, and lost a lot of his imagination and creativity.
The whole poem is showing how this child was dreaming about going into the military, and then joined at a young age, losing his time in youth. Soon he realized all the memories he has, mainly bad; PTSD.
He can't find much of his youth anymore; he goes back to the town that was once beautiful to him but is now not like anything he remembered after battle.
Trying to find hope, but then as he goes through all the memories he slowly becomes depressed; He was happy & made his love for the town seem great. As the poem kept going, he kept reminiscing on his youth and what memories have occurred.
He feels as if he left his youth when he first joined the military and could never find it again.
Don’t take youth for granted; Remind us that if we believe in something so much for example military, etc, we need to remember the aftermaths of those decisions and that the outcome can always change.
