The Freedmen's Bureau was created to help poor, uneducated black people after the Civil War, many had just come out of Slavery. White people, mostly women came and taught the black people. You will see that it caused a lot of problems and the government had to shut it down.
The Freedmen's Bureau offered all kinds of things including food and water to black people. Since the people were very poor with no job they needed food so the Bureau provided it. Also they provided medical supplies.
The Freedman's Bureau also provided education for the freedman. Many just were slaves and don't know how to read or write. The Bureau educated them on laws and jobs and how to provide for their family. They also told them how to read and write.
This is not fair we are poor white people and we don't get anything.
