Look at this beautiful flower, it is flourishing because it has sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is entering through the stomata on the plant

Here we are, on a leaf. The guard cells regulate the gas exchange for the chloroplasts
It looks as if the grass didn't get enough glucose so it died. The reason it died is because they didn't have deep enough roots so the Xylem and Phloem didn't have enough water to survive. The trees survived because they had deep roots
