My Tuesday started like any other school day. I got home and started my homework, but suddenly my mom came rushing through the door while crying. She told me she had to go to the hospital but she didn't say why. II was so lost, and I couldn't even say a thing.
My mom got to the hospital and our family was in the waiting room. The doctor came out and said, "She didn't make it." The room filled with darkness, and everyone was in shock. Imani Sela Bell had passed. The whole family was in tears, and they all had to say their goodbyes.
Wednesday was a new day, and my mom was home when me and my sister woke up. Again I was of to school, and fell into my normal routine. Me and my sister got home, and our parents were already home. They told us to come in their room, and when we opened the door it was as quiet as a mouse. They told us that Imani had died on Tuesday while she was running outside and doing drills at basketball practice. I was confused and my sister bursted into tears.
The wake finally approached us and I got all dolled up on Friday. I was sad, but on the plus side I was surrounded by family. The only time I couldn't hold back my tears was when I saw her body. I cried into my mother's arm and walked down the aisle.
Now it's Saturday and it was the day of the funeral. At the funeral they sang, danced, preached, and talked about Imani. We then went back to Teedine's house, and I had so much fun with my cousins.
In the end I did learn something from this event in my life. I realized to make the best of each day, because you never know what twist and turns are around the corner. When this happened I looked towards heaven because God holds me near his heart. All I had to remember was that I was amid around family, friends, and that sunshine is around the corner.
