  • Rising Action
  • Climax
  • The Quinn family is at home just having a normal, rainy day. Mr. Quinn comes home from work and says he doesn't think the dam is high enough for all the rain going into the lake, he is scared that the dam might break.
  • Falling Action
  • Mr. Quinn and others from Johnstown go to look at the dam, and see what they can do to try to fix it up, so it doesn't break, or overflow.
  • Resolution
  • The flood comes, but Aunt Abbie doesn't want to put her feet in the dirty water, so Gertrude, Aunt Abbie and Libby stay in the house. But the flood comes and Gertrude gets separated from her family.
  • Dailynn Butzin Ms. Galbreath Period 6
  • Aunt Abbie, Libby and Gertrude get separated. Gerturde goes trough a hole in the house, and is floating on a mattress. A man sees Gertrude, and jumps off of his floating roof to save her.
  • The man who saves Gertrude throws her to two men inside a building. They wrap up Gertrude, and carry her up the hill to her family. We don't know what happened to Aunt Abbie and Libby.
