This is at the beginning of the book when Oskar finds the key in the envelope in his dads closet.
This is when Oskar begins searching what the key is for.
This when Oskar meets the renter (his grandfather) and he sees all the books in his room and tells him (the renter) about his search for the key.)
This is when Oskar goes to William Black's office and find's out that the key goes to a safety deposit box.
This is at the end of the of the book when Oskar goes home and cries and puts all of the pages in his "Things That Happened To Me" journal backwards.
