Storyboard Description

How did the Populist Party formed? & What did the farmers want and why?

Storyboard Text

  • My friends and I were all tired of having no political power.
  • We had many discussions on what to do about this. Eventually this turned into so many arguments.
  • Later on, we had to pay back banks loans with money that was worth more than the original money we had borrowed.
  • We decided to make a movement that let us farmers and laborers have a greater voice. That is when the Populist Party formed (1892).
  • All we wanted to gain from all of this is a policy that would raise our crop prices. We eventually gained some of the money we had lost.
  • Things turned out good for us farmers later though. Thanks for stopping by.
