  • You know fats can be good for you but they can also be bad for you 
  • fats can be used as a source of energy, to transport and store other nutrients, help regulate body temperature and insulate the body. 
  • saturated fats come from animal products, coconut and palm oils. They are usually sollid at room temperature, and it will raise your cholesterol. 
  • Unsaturated fats are found in vegetables, canola, olive oils, nuts, and seeds. They are usually liquid at room temperature. 
  • Trans fats are the liquid fats that manufacturers turn into solid fats in a process called hydrogenation. They come from vegetable shortening, margarine, and processed cheese. 
  • Cholesterol is a white wax-like substance that transports and digest fats. High blood Cholesterol levels can cause heart disease, high blood pressure, and other health problems. They come from animal products.
