In Act I Scene 5, Hamlet sees the Ghost of his dead father. His father tells him that he must avenge his death because he was murdered by Claudius, the new King.
In Act II scene 2, Hamlet runs into the actors in one of the plays that he was watching and he stopped by and asked them if they could do "The Murder of Gonzago". They said y, but Hamlet asked them to change a few things in the play and he said he would rewrite that part of the play.
In Act III scene 1, Gertrude and Claudius discuss Hamlet and his behavior and Polonius tells Ophelia to return her things to Hamlet while Polonius and Claudius hide behind a curtain and eavesdrop on their conversation.
In act III scene 4, Hamlet is talking with Gertrude and thought that Claudius was behind the curtain in the bedroom, but turns out it was Polonius instead.
In act IV scene 3, King Claudius talks to Guildenstern and Rosencrantz about Hamlet and his plan to exile Hamlet. Hmalet already knows this and has his own plan.
In act IV scene 7, Gertrude comes with news about Ophelia and how she killed herself because she was so grief stricken about her father dying.
