In act 2 there was a lot that happen. Not only did Macbeth do a lot of murdering in this act but he also plans to kill Duncan but fails and ends up leaving lady Macbeth worried and frightened. Macbeth killed the 2 guards, king, and had lady Macbeth involved in staging the killing. Lady Macbeth goes back to the crime scene to Put the dagger back at the crime scene.

After Macbeth Kills the king and guards, he goes back to the room where lady Macbeth is and starts to explain all the things he saw and heard. This shows that he is starting to feel guilty. First the theme starts as soon as Macbeth gets the idea to murder people and then feels the most guilty when he gets back to the room and starts freaking out. It continues threw the next 2 acts when he starts seeing ghosts.
