Marginalia by Billy Collins
Oftentimes while reading, I'll find angry notes, scribbled near the text, demanding an explanation or change from the author.
Or others suggesting the reader is more knowledgeable than the author himself; mocking the text entirely.
Students, on the other hand, tend to write smaller comments, analyzing the text for linguistic patterns.
Fortunately, there are readers more invested about the text they're reading; responding excitedly to the occurring events.
And in some cases, it's almost as though the readers are applauding the main characters of the story.
YES!!! My man!
