Many years ago, Pateros River was once called the "PEARL OF THE ORIENT" of its town. It's not just its beauty that stands out but its beneficial effects to the community.
As time passed by, As time passed by, the most preserved treasure of Pateros turns to a disastrous creation that no one can even recognize. Pateros River were filled with trash and had been a habitat of some animals like rat.
What happened to the river?
We've interviewed a resident living nearby the river, named Ate Hedy. Ate Hedy is living witness of how a precious river turned to a disatrous one. She lives there since her childhood up until now. She is 62 years old.
The old Pateros River played a significant role in our community because we can get our daily necessities in the river just like our food. To the unwillingness of the people to preserves it beauty, it is now just garbage can where people can throw their trash anytime.
One of of the member of our group made an interview with the Vice Mayor of Pateros. And asked some programs regarding the river.
What are the programs that has been and will be implemented on the rehabilitation of the Pateros River?
Our officials, which are the MENRO, always making programs to restore the beauty of our river, and me and our mayor are the ones who will approved. This coming September 22, 2018 we will have general clean up in our river. Everyone can be a colunteer in this clean up project.
After all the interviews we have conducted, we had realized that there's no any chances to restore the beauty of old Pateros River. But still, but still, we can do something that will improve the current situation of the river. As an individual, we should always remember our responsibilities with our environment.
