  • Beginning of my Journey
  • It all starts with my need for honey!! I take the pollen from the flower so I can make honey
  • These are the Parts of a Flower, all flowers have male Stamen parts an female pistil parts
  • The Pistil
  • stamen
  • The stigma
  •  The ovule
  • Where the pollen is produced and how it travels
  • The stamen (male part of the flower) produces pollen. Pollen is similar to sperm in animals. It travels by the pollen being stuck to the animals (bees, hummingbirds etc) bodies, and when they go to another flower of the same species, the pollen on their bodies land on the sticky stigma of the flower
  • How these animals are attracted to flowers
  • The strong, sweet smell of the flower will attract bees, hummingbirds,butterflies and other pollinators. 
  • What the animals use the pollen for
  • How seeds are made
  • The pollen that has stucked to the bees body, will then travel down the pistol. When it reaches the ovule, a new seed is created
  • Animals that collewct pollen for flowers are called pollinator, they help plants reduce. Bees, Hummingbirds, Butterrflies etc land on the stamen of flowers to collect pollenm, whcih they use to make food
