Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • The narrator is in a cell, and he is telling us his story about how he killed his pet black cat and his wife. Which is why he is in a cell. He is also getting killed the next day.
  • Rising Action
  • The narrator talks about how he loved animals growing up, when he married his wife he had a lot of pets including a black cat. One day he got was drunk and angry he took out one of the cat's eye's and killed him and hanged him on the tree.
  • The narrator finds a new black cat that looked exactly like his old cat, but he had some white fur. A few days later, he realized that the cat 's white fur was the gallows. He then tries to kill the cat with an axe, but his wife stops him, so he kills his wife instead. He buried his wife in the wall, in the cellar.
  • Climax
  • Falling Action
  • Few days after the murder, police officers came to the narrators home. They wanted to investigate. They searched everywhere and didn't find anything.
  • As the police officers were leaving, the narrator stopped them to tell them about his wall, which had his wife buried in it. He heard some noise/howl and he thought his wife came back from the dead. Then the police officers broke the wall and found the wife's dead body, and the black cat, that was making the noises.
