Storyboard Text

  • God Bless America!
  • We have to see Grant!
  • Vote for me!!!
  • Dorothy and her companions, the Tin Man (Knight), Lion (Jester), Scarecrow (Cowboy), and Toto, are traveling across the Atlantic Ocean in hopes to find missing traits in the United States.
  • The Tin Man explains to his friends how in order to find what they are looking for (brains, heart, courage, and the meaning of home), they must travel on the railroad. Since they docked in Boston, they must travel south until they reach Washington D.C. and President Grant, who was working on being reelected.
  • Second Term!!
  • The Cyclops, as he is nicknamed since he only has one real eye, is hoping to squash the Great Grant in the upcoming presidential election. Dorothy and her friends must destroy the Cyclops' chance of winning the election in order for Grant to help them.
  • Cyclops was found guilty of embezzling money from the United States government during his time in Congress and therefore had to withdraw himself from the election. The evidence for this case was discovered by Dorothy and her companions.
  • President Grant, now that he has won a second term, is able to give Dorothy and her friends the traits they desire. He also is able to make Dorothy realize that though Europe may not be as wonderful as the United States, it is her home and she has had the power to go back the whole time.
  • Dorothy, Tin Man, Lion, Scarecrow, and Toto are thankful to have had the opportunity to experience American and meet the president. They celebrate their new found traits, though they had truly had them all along.
