" Whatever has two legs is an enemy. Whatever has four legs or wings is a friend."
🎶 Beasts of England 🎶
Old Major discusses the rebellion with the other animals on the farm. He explains to him that humans are the enemy and that the animals should only trust individuals that have four legs or wings.
Old Major teaches Beasts of England which is sung to show that animals must rebel against humans so they can be equal. This song is sung at every meeting and used as an anthem for the animals' desire for freedom.
SOME COMMANDMENTS: No animal can sleep in a bed No animal can drink alcohol No animal can kill another animal No animals can wear clothes All animals are equal
Old Major dies three nights after the first singing of the Beasts of England and is buried by an orchard. Leaving the other pigs to take full control of Animal Farm and begin the ideas of Animalism.
Mr. Jones and his men were attacked by the animals as a sort of rebellion against human control. The men used whips to defend themselves yet they found themselves outnumbered. The animals successfully drove out all the humans from Manor Farm and officially changed the name to Animal Farm.
In order to keep the separation between humans and animals, the pigs write out the Seven Commandments which the animals must obey per Old Major's instructions before his passing. The rules include laws such as animals can not kill each other which promotes the idea of teamwork and creatively accumulating food.
Napoleon and Squealer begin to take full control of the newly named Animal Farm. Rules and roles are spewed out, conducting how each animal should behave.
