Storyboard Text

  • Another popular event in the Garden is the blossoming of the rare and enormous "corpse flower." It can take years between blooms. The plant can grow to over 8 feet tall, and is known for its horrible smell, sometimes described as the smell of death.
  • rom here you can see the great botanical garden where more than 65,000 plants of different species are grown
  • We are going there to relax for a while to see the most recent exhibition, "Deeply rooted, branching out", where it covers the scientific exploration of plants, where there are plants over 165 years old
  • Something decidedly sweeter is the smell of roses when the weather warms up in Washington, D.C. Many varieties and colors of these beautiful flowers, along with other outdoor plants, bloom in the Garden when the hot weather and the sun hit the city.
  • What a great day since today is the 200th anniversary of the botanical garden since when it was founded by George Washington and Thomas Jefferson
