In 1585 in North Carolina, they established Roanoke for riches, better lives, and to expand England's territory.
When they got there after a difficult sail, the leader, John White, had to leave to get extra supplies and support. He got caught up in war, and came back years later. No one was there. Roanoke had failed.
They could have been more prepared so John wouldn't have to go back, and England could have sent farmers instead of businessmen.
