  • Oh, i guess I do want to represented.
  • Why? What's the point?
  • Are you gonna vote?
  • Yup! that's why one of the principles is republicanism, just remember to do your research so you choose the best person to represent you.
  • Well since the people are sovereign, we need to exercise our power by voting so that our government represents us.
  • Of course!
  • The person who I voted for lost. I'm scared that the other person will be a bad leader and take control of the gov.
  • Ok, that makes me feel better.
  • No need to worry! In the US our gov leaders still have to obey the rules. They even have certain laws to prevent sieges of power by individuals and groups.
  • These are called "checks and balances" if one branch tries something sneaky the other branches will stop them. Not one branch has all the power to prevent tyranny.
  • Exactly!
  • Yes I can, I have the right to peacefully protest. It is stated in the Bill of Rights, it protects my individual liberties.
  • The Bill of Rights was created to insure that the people would not be oppressed. We have the right to speech choice of religion and many more.
  • Oh, so as long as you're peaceful and don't harm anyone you can say what you think!
  • You're not allowed to protest! That's an act of treason!
