Daniel and his friend, Travis were playing soccer outside, Daniel kicked it too far and it ended up landing in the middle of the lake. Daniel decides to use trigonometry to find the distance of the lake. He finds out using tan(40) * 150 = 126 so the distance between the ball and him is 126 ft.
Since the ball is 126 feet away Daniel and Travis decide to get a boat to try and get the ball.
When they were heading to the soccer ball, the boat broke down and so they were stranded in the middle of the lake. Daniel needs to find the distance between the ball and him once again so he uses trigonometry. He finds out using tan(40) * 30 = 25 so the distance between Daniel and Travis from the ball is 25 feet.
We made it back!
Daniel and Travis decide to swim to the soccer ball and end up getting the soccer ball back. But what do they do now?
Daniel and Travis are stuck now in the middle of the lake and are tired of swimming. They have to get to saftey as fast as possible so they decide to swim to the nearest rock in the lake. Using trig, they find out the distance of each rock and the closest one out is 47/sin50 = 61.35 so the nearest rock is 61.35 feet away.
Daniel and Travis make it to the rock safe and so they call their parents to see if anyone is nearby and it so happens that Daniel's Dad is there. His dad rescues them and they make it back safe and sound. The End...
