  • Vladimir Lenin returns to Russia from exile. Angered by the fact that Russia was still fighting in WWI and that many Bolsheviks supported the provisional government, he joins forces with Leon Trotsky.
  • I'm back an I'm here to start a revolution!!!
  • Yeaaa!! We must overthrow the provisional government!
  • Inspired by Karl Marx, and his idea of a classless society, Marxism, Lenin and Trotsky planned to revolt and introduce communism to Russia.
  • hmmm.. Communism sounds like a good idea.
  • To gain support, Lenin promises o end food shortages, get Russia out of the war, and land reforms.
  • I promise you peace, land, and bread.
  • Lenin and his supporters invade the Winter Palace, the headquarters of the provisional government.
  • In 1918, the czar and his family are murdered by the Bolsheviks.
  • Lenin signs the Brest-Litovsky Treaty, introduces the New Economic plan, and leads Russia into becoming the United Soviet Socialist Republic until the end of his rule in 1924.
