  • Food Source
  • Predators
  • It feeds mainly on invertebrates, such as grasshoppers, beetles, weevils, earthworms, slugs and snails. It also takes small vertebrates, primarily frogs and lizard.
  • Short Term Effects
  • The chimpanzee is the grey necked rock fowls main predator. Sometimes the bird also resorts to cannibalism.
  • Long Term Effects
  • Drought is a short-term effect that greatly impacts the bird. During dry seasons in their habitat they have limited drinking water and it is shared with other animals in their ecosystem.
  • The rock fowl lives in a very degraded habitat due to human activity. One of the long-term effects that impact the bird are eruptions from Mount Cameroon.
