Storyboard Text

  • Penelope, the Queen of Ithaca, is at home with her husband, Odysseus the King of Ithaca, and her newborn son, Telemachus.
  • Odysseus is called to serve in the Trojan War because of the Oath of Tyndareus, leaving Penelope and their child, Telemachus.
  • The ten year Trojan War had ends, but Odysseus was yet to return home. Penelope and her people start to wonder what had happened to him and started questioning if he was even alive.
  • Penelope's home is invaded by suitors. They eat all of her food and are greedy ungrateful guests. They believe Penelope should be forced marry one of them. She remains faithful to her husband, resisting the temptation to marry another man.
  • Penelope does not want to marry anyone; her only wish is the return of her beloved Odysseus. She stalls her possible wedding by saying she'll marry one of the suitors as soon as she finishes the shroud of Laerates; she fools the suitors by weaving it during the day and unravelling it at night.
  • Telemachus goes on a mission to find Menelaus and Nestor in Pylos and Sparta in order to find out more about what happened to his dad. The suitors find out about Telemachus'plan, and arrange to kill Penelope's son. Penelope is later informed by her sister in a dream that Athena, the gray eyed goddess, is guiding her son.
