  • 1.We have chosen to highlight this scene because how even though it was extremely cold outside they were willing to stay outside and protest for many hours. 2. John Lewis may have included this scene in order to show how dedicated these protesters are. It's significance is that they have really evolved since the beginning. In the beginning they would easily not want to do that. 3. In this scene it shows how protesters are waiting in line to go to the movie theater even though they are not allowed to go to the movies. 4. We have chosen to represent this scene like this to show the protesters outside of the movie theater in the cold. 5. This scene does portray good trouble because they are not doing anything against the law or anything to cause any trouble.
  • 1. We have chosen to highlight this scene because it shows how the bus is on fire and it also shows the people running out of the bus in fear. 2. John Lewis may have included this scene in order to show that they were even dealing with people bombing their buses. It's significance is that it showed how dangerous it was to be apart of the freedom rides. 3. In this scene it shows people in the background watching the bus burn into flames, those people are the people that burned the bus. 4. We have chosen to represent this scene like this because it really shows how fearful this people were as this happened.
  • 1. We have chosen to highlight this scene because it shows how even though times were not looking the best they were still singing. 2. John Lewis may have included this scene in order to show how they were never worried about what was going to happen. It's significance is to show how they thought how times were never bad. 3. In this scene it shows freedom riders in jail and singing. 4. We have chosen to represent this scene like this because it shows how unified these freedom riders were and how happy they were to be together in a time like this.

John Lewis might have included this in his narrative because he wanted to show the six major people in charge of the freedom rides/ the movement. 3. In this scene John Lewis and the big six are all meeting to discuss about the freedom rides and how the march is going to take place. 4. We have chosen to represent this scene like this because because it shows the big six all in one room.

We have chosen to highlight this scene because this is when everyone is marching and John Lewis is in the back of the march trying to get in the front of the line even though he never gets there due to the fact that the march line is extremely long. 2. John Lewis might have included this in his narrative because he wanted to show how he was not even in the front of the march and he was part of the big six. 3. In this scene the march is happening and John Lewis is trying to get back to the front of the line. 4. We have chosen to represent this scene like this because it shows that there were a lot of people at the march and John Lewis is trying to get in front of the line.
  • 1. We have chosen to highlight this because this is when John Lewis tells all of America that they need to wake up and do something. They need to do something to spread the word so discrimination will stop. 2. John Lewis might have included this in his narrative because this was a really important part of the book. This is when they meet up and they celebrate all they have done. 3. In this scene John Lewis is telling all of America to wake up in his speech. 4. We have chosen to represent the scene like this because it shows that there was a large amount of people at this meeting and that John Lewis' speech was a really important part of the novel.
