Storyboard Text

  • So how tall is this tree?
  • That's 5m from you to the tree
  • Thanks
  • So, your eye height is...1.37m
  • Ok, time to use the clinometer...
  • The angle is 35o.
  • Ok thanks. That's all i need to know. Bye!
  • Soon after...
  • Eye height: 1.37m Distance to tree: 5m Angle of Elevation: 35o
  • Now let's write down all the measurements...
  • tan(θ)=opp./adj. tan(35o)=x/5 x=tan(35o)*5 x=2.37m (2d.p.) ∴ Total Height of the tree = 2.37+1.37              =3.6m (1 d.p.)
  • x??
  • 1.37m
  • So this tree is around 3.6m tall.
  • 5m
  • 5m
  • The End
  • 1.37m
  • 35o
