Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Rising Action
  • Climax
  • The exposition of The Lady, or Tiger introduces the king as a semi- barbaric man who single-handedly wields  a powerful sense of justice. He enjoys nothing more than to sort out issues and  to dish out his choice of justice, a fate determined justice. Choosing between two doors one door holding a ravenous tiger and the other an immediate wife. The accused chooses their door and fate decides as the whole kingdom watches.
  • Falling Action
  • The Rising action introduces the initial conflict being the kings daughter, who he cherishes, is having a love affair with a man of lowly rank and the king. The king finds out about the scandal and immediately sets the area for the next day for a hearing of fate.
  • Resolution
  • The climax contains the turning point of the story. The young man is now having to choose is fate. The young man looks to the princess and with a quick signal the hints to choose the door on the right.
  • Central Idea/ theme
  • The posing question is what was behind the right door ? The story reveals that the princess is extremely jealous and holds a lot of hatred for the maiden hidden behind the door and since she has  semi-barbaric traits like her father, which fate did she choose for her lover? The falling action is when he chose the right door.
  • The resolution of the story is what happened when he chose the right door. Did a ravenous tiger come out and eat him or did a beautiful maiden come out and marry him. It doesn't reveal the answer in the story but i believe the tiger came out. I believe this because the author made sure to emphasize how jealous and semi-barbaric she was. He also made sure to include how much she hated the maiden and how grueling it would be to see her lover marry such a woman.
