  • Hey, Huia those kina are calling out loud to me today!
  • So are these dishes!!
  • There family lived in a wooden house just a short drive away from the reef/ ocean.
  • (Sea Horse)
  • There dad would often have things to do, paint the fence do the dishes or mow the lawns but he always wanted to go to the reef and fish. Eventuilly his wife would give in and let them go to the reef.
  • when the weather was nice the reef would be crowded with people searching for kai moana, and the end of the haul familys would sit togeather on the beach ans share the catch, this way there was less waste and they had more time to tay togeather.
  • (Sea Horse)
  • The boy in the story had a secret pool where he saw a seahorse hiding in the seaweed, he had always wanted to take it home and keep it but his father had tought him to respect the ocean and if he took it out the sea horse would die.
  • The ocean was respected by this tribe as it was a sorce of food for them they only ever took what they needed and never dumped anything into it.But the next Morning shock hit this tribe as there belovid sea had been pollutied!
  • Polluted water NO fishing!
  • The boy offten imagines the sea horse swimg trying to find clean water to live in (dying.)
