Storyboard Text

  • Hi I'm phosphorus and I'm going to walk you through my cycle and show you why I'm the best.
  • We will begin the cycle with erosion from rocks. It occurs as water rushes over rock, dissolving phosphorus into rivers and streams.
  • secondly, the phosphorus is absorbed by plants and used in the synthesis of organic molecules.
  • Then the phosphate is concentrated in plant tissues, then the plant is consumed by an animal.
  • after the animal consumes the plant, which is seen as grazing, phosphates are returned to the lake when the plants and animals die.
  • Then plant waste and animal waste return phosphate to the water. Once again it may be resorbed by plants that line the lake, and it enters the cycle again.
