  • What type of education did women receive in Elizabethan era? Formal education was not encouraged, especially for commoners. But byy mid sixteenth century, some women attended grammer school. Later, private schools were made for those who could afford it. ZD
  • Women of nobility received education of their own, consisting of how to read, write and  how to manage a house. It was essential for women to be taught in music and dancing. ZD
  • The one duty that was essential for women was marriage. Women were taught how to fill their roles as wives. Meaning education for commoner women consisted of domestic jobs only. ZD
