Wade, Darren, Griff, and the other seniors made the three freshman, Carson, Tom, and Adrian, do whatever the seniors wanted when they wanted it. The freshman didn't put up much of a fight. They had to do this for the rest of the baseball season. All the seniors thought this was a great idea, except for Griff. Griff didn't believe in all the things his good friend Wade was saying, but he didn't dare speak out.
A couple of games into the season the Sharks had a check for the use of drugs in the locker room. It was brought to attention by a teammate. After a brief inspection of everyone's locker. The inspectors had found a bottle of steroids in Carson's locker. Carson was very shocked and he swore he had never used steroids in his life. Carson couldn't play for the rest of the season. Carson and Griff inspect other players trying to find who framed Carson.
A week after Carson was framed, Griff and he had an idea of who was the person who framed Carson. They believed it was Wade. They followed Wade for a long time every day. One day Wade went to the Gym and Griff and Carson were waiting in Griff's red Mustang. Soon after Wade was done they followed him to a diner where he met a boy their age. They followed him and they made him tell them if he was Wade's drug dealer. He then told them that Wade was his drug dealer.
Once Wade found out that Griff and Carson knew he was the one selling drugs and possibly the one who framed Carson, Wade ran. Griff and Carson chased Wade all around town until they lost him. They then went to Wade's house and confronted him about the drugs. Wade refused to answer and made his dog attack Griff and Carson. They both got back to Griff's car in time not getting hurt.
After chasing down the car that took Wade, Griff and Carson followed it to the gym Wade works out at. They walked inside and saw no sign of Wade and the people that took him. They wandered to the back and saw Wade and "Uncle Jim". Wade was strapped to a chair. Carson caused a distraction that let Griff get the strap of of Wade and they went out the back door. They ran for their lives with Uncle Jim right behind them.
Carson was allowed back on the team after they told the coach that Wade was the one using steroids not Carson. Griff and Carson went to the Skills event the next day. Griff gave the team a pep talk and a little update about Wade. A little into the event Uncle Jim had shown up in a Marlins cap. He tried to get Griff to sell his drugs for him, but Griff refused. Uncle Jim grabbed Griff and tried to take him to his car, but he was stopped by the coaches just in time.
