Storyboard Text

  • Fluorine is a lonely element looking for some compatible friends to take to his birthday party, but he has some rules for them. One of his friends has to have 1 valence electrons, one of his friends has to be negative, and one of his friends needs to be a nonmetal.
  • I need to find some friends for my birthday party.
  • Hey Sodium, how are you? I was wondering if you wanna be my friend we would be very stable together.
  • As Fluorine is walking through the mall he see's someone from school and decides to say hi.
  • Hey Fluorine im fine, and of course we can be friends now we have accomplished the octet rule with 8 outer electrons.
  • Fluorine has found one friend that matches his rule now he is on to the next. Fluorine is walking out of the local cafe when he see's someone and decides to say hi.
  • Hey negative Chlorine do you wanna be friends? We would make a charged team together. I will lose some electrons and you can gain some.
  • Hey Fluorine and of course we can be friends i've been looking for someone positive I could attract to forming a charged ion.
  • Hey my name is Sodium and im looking for a friend so I can create a covalent bond.
  • Sodium wants to find one more friend. Is this mysterious guy the one?
  • Hello Sodium I am Iodine. Unfortunately for a covalent bond to be formed you would have to be a nonmetal, but you are a metal. Covalent bonds share molecules and are stronger than ionic bonds because they form molecules.
  • Sodium is a little sad that he was not able to find 3 friends for his party but he did find 2 and will call them and tell them about the party tomorrow.
  • Hey Flourine and Chlorine. Thank you guys for fitting my rules and coming to my party!
  • Your welcome Sodium, we are glad to be here!
