J.J. Thompson (1856 - 1940) Physicist Proved that an atom can be divided into smaller parts. Thompson is also a Nobel Prize winner for his Plum Pudding Model.
While experimenting with cathode-ray tubes, discovered corpuscles, which were later called electrons.
Plum Pudding Model States that atoms mostly consist of positively charged material with negatively charged particles (electrons) located throughout the positive material.
Thomson was very smart at a young age and in result was admitted to Owens College at 14 years of age.
