Storyboard Text

  • Hi! I'm Jerry The dog! Today I'm gonna show you, what the 5 characteristics of living things are! :D
  • For example, This shark is going to eat this fish to get more energy!
  • Living things need energy to survive, otherwise they cannot breathe, they move slower and they usually become very tired.
  • All living things must have one or more cells! I am a dog, and as you can see, I have more than one cell, that means I am a living creature!
  • Living things need one or more cells, some organisms only need one cell, such as the Proteus,  though some need many, like a human.
  • Living things respond to their environment. For example, this rabbit heard the jaguar coming, and he didn't want to get eaten so, he ran.
  • They need to be aware of their surroundings in case of danger. Some organisms swim away if danger arises
  • Living things must reproduce so that the population of that organism doesn't go extinct.
  • Living things also have to grow and reproduce! For example, this baby was born from the two other turtles you see here! Now the population of sea turtles will be bigger!
  • An organism must keep warm a cold environment and keep cool in a heated environment. Otherwise they will die.
  • And finally, living things need to maintain a stable internal environment. For example, When it's cold outside, humans shiver to keep themselves warm!
