  • zzz...
  • Main Conflict
  • Scaredy cat!!
  • Let's turn around!!!
  • Rising Action
  • Ms. Boyd said it's time to go on the hike. Wooohoo!
  • NO! I don't want to go!
  • When I was in 5th grade, my SAIL class went on a trip to Camp Greenville in the mountains. We all went in different cars with a parent to drive and friend(s) that we wanted to be in the car with. The person I chose to ride with was my friend Darrrell. The trip was long, so we had to stop for breaks and we both eventually fell asleep along the way.
  • Climax
  • Once we woke up, we were almost in the mountains portion of Greenville. My fear of the extreme heights in the mountains immediately kicked in and I was scared. I started to rethink if I should of got my mom to sign the paper that said I could go.
  • Falling Action
  • What if I fall?!?! I CANT SWIM!
  • Once we arrived to the camp, the first thing we did was get to our dorms. After that, my SAIL teacher said we were going on a nature hike and other outside activities. As soon as I heard the nature hike part, my fear of mountains kicked in again. I absolutely hated what we were about to do.
  • Resolution/Conclusion
  • Ha! That was easy, let's go eat!
  • The mountain hike was terrible. Going up the mountain was extremely hard because it was something I wasn't used to doing. We had to climb ropes, jump over big branches, and our shoes and hands were dirty. I couldn't stop thinking about how happy I would be for this to be over.
  • LOL! Come on you big baby! The class is ahead of us!
  • I miss my mom :(
  • We reached the top of the mountain! I thought the worst parts of the hike was over, but I was wrong. We had to cross a waterfall with rocks forming a path and I didn't know how to swim yet! This made me really nervous and it took me a lot of courage to be able to cross the waterfall.
  • We finally finished the nature hike around the evening into the darkness of night. I was so relieved when this was all over. After hiking such a big mountain, we proceeded to go to the Dining Hall for dinner. Over the course of the trip, I soon realized that it wasn't really as bad as I thought and I should cherish one of these final experiences with my friends in 5th grade.
  • I did it! I'm so glad this hike is over with!!
