She was born in 1412 in Domremy Bar, France during the Hundred Years’ War between France and England. Joan was born into poverty so she was always staying at home taking care of the farm rather than exploring. Then she started having vision around the age of 13 and imaging saints. Those saints then told her at the age of 17 to go to war and capture Orleans. Then in May 8, 1429 she captured Orleans from England.
She was declared a saint in 1920. She captured Orleans which would the most major battle in the Hundred Years’ War.
She served in the Hundred Years’ War even though she was a women. She was a big part in the siege of Orleans. She was also killed for religious beliefs.
