Storyboard Text

  • I can't wait to get to the village to see the merchant's daughter again
  • Santiago has a dream of treasure
  • Meeting Kelchizedek
  • The biggest lie is to not achieve in your dreams
  • Santiago meets Fatima
  • The importance to Santiago's recurring dream of buried treasure is essential because it caused him to begin to question its meaning and take him on a journey further than he had ever gone.
  • Meeting the Alchemist
  • NO INFIDELS ARE ALLOWED IN THIS DESERT! GET OUT!!
  • The purpose to Santiago meeting King Melchizedek is important to the story because in the moment before the King appeared to him, Santiago was debating going to Egypt. If it wasn't for this moment in the story, it is highly possible that Santiago would have continued tending sheep in misery.
  • Santiago Turns into the Wind
  • Santiago meets Fatima at the desert Oasis as an omen to keep going, the want to be with the merchant's daughter kept swirling through his mind, Meeting Fatima was essential to the story for Santiago to have a place to come back to when his journey ends, to have a woman who accepts when a man has to venture to the desert.
  • Santiago finds his treasure
  • Meeting the Alchemist is important to the story because it taught Santiago to deal with head on issues and to control his fear. If Santiago did not meet the Alchemist, he may have never made it through the desert alive.
  • Turning himself into the wind is essential to the story because it showed that Santiago could do anything if he put his mind to it. Without this moment, Santiago would have never learned the potential inside himself.
  • In the end, Santiago learns where his treasure is really buried and returns to where it all began. This is important to the story as much as the rest of the book because Santiago would have never seen the sheer beauty and true size of the world if he hadn't of taken those fist few steps.
