  • We have barely money to buy groceries! Our income is not enough.

  • Kimberly is a waitress at Applebees. Damien is a usher at weddings, ceremonies, etc. Emmie's hobby is playing with dolls. Damien likes to collect shoes. Kimberly loves to do makeup. Greyson does not have any hobbies yet.
  • I am happy that we can put money on other items other than groceries!
  • We get money every month to spend on food.
  • Damien and Kimberly's household income is below a certain number and just can't afford food.

  • The purpose of SNAP is to provide nutrition among low income families. They provide food purchasing assistance for low and no income people. Families that have a household income below a certain number qualify for this program and max gross income is 130% of federal poverty level qualify too.
  • The government gives them a card and it has a certain amount of money on it. Now they won't have to worry about money for food.
  • Both Kimberly and Damien got raises for working hard. Now they would have no financial help for food. It made them feel accomplished when they got raises.
