  • "I bestow on Arthur God's blessing on my own, and Arthur shall succeed to the throne on pain of forfeiting my blessing." Pg. 1116 Ln. 113-115
  • Do you wish for Arthur to succeed your throne?
  • Alright I shall do it. 
  • Young brother, I my sword is missing from its sheath. Can you get it for me?
  • "WHOSO PULLETH OUTE THIS SWERD OF THE STONE AND ANVYLD IS RIGHTWYS KYGNE BORNE OF ALL BRYTAYGNE" Pg. 1116 Ln. 132-133
  • I found a sword for my brother!
  • King Uther's dying breath was to have his son, Arthur, succeed his throne.
  • I insist that we return to the courtyard.
  • "Father, the succession falls to me, for I have the sword that was lodged in the stone." Pg. 1117 Ln. 152-153
  • Arthur's brother, Sir Kay was missing his sword. He asked Arthur to go back to the lodge and retrieve his sword. 
  • I bound you by oath to tell me how you came upon the sword.
  • My brother did it. 
  • The door to the lodge was locked, so he found a sword nearby and pulled it out for his brother. He did not know what the sword really meant. He ignored the writings on it. 
  • I pulled a sword out and I am now King. Makes sense. 
  • Sir Kay recognized the sword and claimed that he was the rightful successor to the throne. However, his father, Sir Ector insisted that they return to the courtyard.
  • Sir Ector forced his son, Kay, by oath, to state how did he obtain the sword. Sir Kay admits that it was his brother, Arthur who pulled the sword out. 
  • Arthur is the now the king of Britain.
