In ancient India a boy, Siddhartha, was born. A prophecy said that if he left home he would become a religious leader, and if he stayed at home he would become a world ruler.
The Four Noble Truths
You shall Never leave home so you become a great leader
When he was 29 he left home four times . While out, he only saw 4 things, getting old, sick, and dying. later he saw a religious man and came to the conclusion that without God there are only these three things. This became know as the four journeys.

There is only getting old sick and dying without God
God is great, and I feel great
in search for enlightenment he wandered the woods of India. He fasted, only eating three grains of rice a day. soon, he came to a Bohdi tree and sat there for 49 days seeking enlightenment. On the 49th day he came to the for noble truths.
I shall meditate under this Gobi Tree in the search for enlightenment
To get rid of all desires and attain enlightenment you must follow the eightfold path
Life is filled with suffering and sorrow
The cause of suffering is people’s selfishness and desire for temporary pleasures
To end all suffering you must end all desire
The EightfoldPath was a guide to behavior. It was like a staircase in the sense that you have to take it one step at a time to reach enlightenment. By following the Eightfold Pathyou can reach Nirvana, or a release of selfishness.
BY following the Eightfold Path you can reach Nirvana.
Traders played a crucial role in spreading Buddhism.Buddhism spread from Sri Lanka to Korean. It spread because most traders were part of a lower class, and the ideas of Buddhism helped them.
