Time to go teach some prisoners.
They are treated horribley
I hate them wiping me and treating me bad.
In 1841 Dorothea Dix did Sunday school at a prison.
When she was in the prison she saw that they kept mentally ill people in prison, and they kept people with debt in prison.
Dorothea took notes and was sick of the way that the mentally ill and the debtors were treated so she took it upon herself and went to legislators.
Dorothea Dix protested for rights of mentally ill and debtors because the way they were treated was so bad that they would cry from being whipped and burned. She protested in Rhode Island, New York and Europe.
We are glad that Dorothea Dix was born because she made a deformity at birth a beautiful thing and treated like it was normal. She did this by making a mental hospital for people instead of being held in prison.
She made a court system for things that people could around their community in order to pay off their debt instead of being held in jail for the littlest debt.
