Storyboard Text

  • One day, Nick and Andrew were playing a game of soccer.
  • Nick pushed Andrew over, and when Andrew tried to catch himself from falling backwards, he hurt his wrist.
  • Andrew's mom took him to the doctor's office to find out that he has an impacted fracture to his radius, in his right forearm.
  • The doctor then went on to explain the four phases of the bone healing process with Andrew's family as he was putting his cast on.
  • The first phase is the formation of a hematoma, which should begin to go away in 3-4 weeks.
  • The second phase is the Fibrocartilaginous Callus formation, where fibroblasts secrete collagen to stimulate new connective tissue formation.
