An unnamed man was making through the snow of Alaska. It was really cold out for him. There was no sunlight, nor clouds in the skies, and he was a newcomer in the Yukon.
The man befriends a husky along the hike, so he travels with it to a camp, where the man's friends are waiting for him with a nice fire.
Along the journey however, the husky's legs get wet, after crossing through the ice, so now the man starts to build a fire for the husky. But then, he gets his legs wet too. So now, he has to make a fire for himself too.
After that however, the man starts to have some trouble with his fingers and feet getting so cold, and has trouble making a fire for himself.
After all hope seems to be lost, the man decides to run the rest of the way to the camp, hopefully enough time before his impending death.
Unfortunately, however, the man dies, leaving the husky trotting toward the camp for food and fire.
