My family was at a party that was taking place at the Lynden Sculpture Garden. The grown-ups were talking with friends on the deck, and the kids were playing the games on the grass. I was 8 years old and it was the spring time.
It was pitch black in the woods, you could not see five feet in front of you. The boys were having fun pushing us in the swing and for us girls the wind was really nice on our faces. All of a sudden I had this gut feeling that something bad was going to happen to us kids. I yelled at everyone that something bad was going to happen so we stop and ran for our lives.
All the kids made it just fine back to the parents on the deck. Everyone left pretty quickly after the scare. No one knows what animal that scared us all that night but it was just a feeling that couldn't be ignored.
