  • The Cubans burn the American Sugar Cane Plantations to attract he interset of the Americans. Cuabns used yellow journalism to make the stories sound bigger than they were.
  • U.S. Demands
  • The U.S.S. Maine was a ship that 250 Americans died on because of an explosion that made the ship sink. The Americans blamed this on the Spanish.
  • Treaty of Paris
  • December, 1898Treaty...
  • McKinley hesitates to enter into the war, so peace is still maintained.
  • Territory Gained
  • The U.S. demanded thing from Spain such as money from the U.S.S. Maine, an end to reconstruction camps, a truce with Cuba and Cuban Independence. Spain exepted all of these expet the Cuban independence.
