In 563 B.C. a boy named Siddhartha Gautama was born into a royal Hindu family. One day his father (The King) took Siddhartha to a fortune teller and he sad that he would be a religious leader or a king. Of course, Siddhartha´s father wanted him to be king.

Growing up, Siddhartha was living a life of luxury. He never saw a homeless man or a person suffering from disease. Eventually Siddhartha got married and had a son.

One day Siddhartha was able to sneak out of the kingdom and saw a terrible sight. He saw an old man with a cane, a man suffering from disease, a dead man, and a holy and very content religious man. He realizes that he wants to know the truth about life, death, and suffering. As a result, he leaves his family to search for the truth.

Siddhartha connected with Hindu gurus in the forest before living as an ascetic. Being an ascetic was hard for Siddhartha, ascetic's are a group of people that practiced self denial as a belief. Siddhartha survived 5 years as an ascetic. He was so skinny and unhealthy that when he went to touch his stomach he felt his back bone. Some days after, he was offered some rice and milk . He accepted the food and the group of the ascetics abandoned him.
After he was abandoned his search for the truth about life continued, he meditating under a fig tree for 49 days. During the meditation, a god named Mara tried to interrupt the meditation or break it. He fought it and reached enlightenment, a state of perfect wisdom.
In the world of wisdom Siddhartha decided to leave to teach people in the real world how to reach enlightenment. He traveled around the world for 49 years. People asked him if he was a God, Saint or an Angel, all of his answers were no! He said he was awakened.
