Storyboard Text

  • Only the rich should have gold. I wish for the golden touch!
  • I will show you how gracious I can be by granting you that wish.
  • King Midas has turned all the roses in his garden into gold, and his daughter is upset.
  • King Midas accidentally turns her into a golden statue with his touch.
  • King Midas wanted to keep his ears a secret; however, his barber had to see them
  • Don't cry, I will give you a golden doll
  • The golden roses are ugly! I can't smell them!
  • The King realizes he cannot eat as his food turns into gold with his touch and chokes him.
  • I am starving, but I cannot eat!
  • Apollo, revoke my wish now!
  • I take away your wish, but you must wear donkey ears for your foolishness
  • The King then swore the barber to secrecy. If he revealed the secret, his head would be chopped.
  • The river reeds heard, and the secret eventually spread to the city.
  • If you tell anyone about my ears, your head will be cut off.
  • The servant could not bear to keep the secret as he was a gossip, so he said it into a hole he dug.
  • Midas has donkey ears!
  • Although he was angry, King Midas chose to forgive the servant and not punish him.
  • You have learned mercy, so I revoke the ears.
