  • Gilgamesh and the eye of death.
  • Gilgamesh.
  • O glorious Shamash, I have followed the road commanded but now if you send no succor how shall I escape?
  • Shamash the sun god.
  • Humbaba stared out his strong house of cedar with the eye of death.
  • Humbaba in the midst of defeat.
  • Gilgamesh had tears running down his cheeks as he prayed to Shamash.
  • Humbaba begged.
  • "Gilgamesh, let me speak. I have never known a mother, no, nor a father who reared me. I was born of the mountain, he reared me, and Enlil made me the keeper of this forest. Let me go free, Gilgamesh, and I will be your servant, You shall be my lord; all of the trees of the forest that I tended on the mountain shall be yours. I will cut them down and build you a palace.
  • Shamash the sun god heard Gilgamesh's prayer and summoned the eight winds to help defeat Humbaba.
  • The three strikes.
  • Shamash had summoned the 8 winds and they are capturing Gilgamesh.
  • Humbaba begged and begged to be let free, but Gilgamesh did not listen.
  • Gilgamesh struck Humbaba not 1 time, not 2 times, But on the third strike Humbaba went down.
