Storyboard Text

  • "Ona think she better than us."
  • E and Noodles are talking about Ona 
  • "Keep it."
  • E and Ona have a few classes together, art, music, and civics. They always sat next to eachother because they had last names that started with the same letter. Ona liked him right away. She slipped and fell on the first day of class, he was the only one who didn't laugh at her. 
  • Ona lived in the suburbs, E came from the part of town everybody called Death Row. E and Noodles decided to rob a house in the suburbs to get money. E was using the money to buy new clothes for the school dance him and Ona are going to. 
  • "Friday's our lucky day, so let's do it again on Friday."
  • "People here don't lock doors, just like Ona said."
  • E knew before he left that Ona's dad wouldn't let him take her to the dance. Ona's dad was very disrepectful to E.
  • "Ever been around here before?"
  • "No, sir. I ain't ever been around here."
  • *correcting E's English*
  • People noticed E dressed so nicely. E was looking for Ona but couldn't find her, Ona's family got robbed so she couldn't make it to the dance
  • Noodles robbed Ona's house to get back at Ona's father for disrespecting E.
  • "I told you. Don't be disrespecting me."
  • E and Noodles both got arrested. The whole car ride E had his eyes closed, didn't say a word to Noodles and imagined himself and Ona dancing-holding tight to eachother. Ignoring all those people who wondered what she ever saw in him.
