- "Victor thought as he walked down the hall to his homeroom." This shows that Victor kept thinking about Teresa while he was walking down the hallway. Victor wanted to know how to impress Teresa so Victor could date her. Therefore, He wanted to impress her.
- Falling Action
- Dang, you are so good!
- "..give me an example of a person--you, Victor Rodriguez.' 'Teresa,' Victor said automatically. Some of the girls giggled. They knew he had a crush on Teresa. He felt himself blushing again." This shows that Victor has a crush on her. He wouldve called out anyones name but he called out hers, Therefore, he has a crush on her.
- Resolution
- Oh my, you are so good at french, can you help me with french please?
- "He tried to bluff his way out by making noises that sounded French. 'La me vave me con le grandma' he said uncertainly."After reading this, this part of the story shows that Victor doesn't know any french but he wanted to impress Teresa. Therefore, Victor is trying to impress Teresa in any way possible.
- "Teresa who stood in front of him. 'I didn’t know you knew French,' she said. 'That was good.'" This part shows that Teresa was impressed. But Victor lied about knowing french which is not a good idea because he still has to study. Therefore, he succeeded too impress Teresa.

- "Teresa asked him if he would help her with her French." This shows that Victor finally impressed Teresa and he got Teresa to talk to him.Teresa wanted help because she thought Victor was good at french but Teresa didn't know he lied. Therefore, Victor got Teresa to talk to him.
